Foamstars Going Free-To-Play on October 3

    A surprising decision.

Square Enix has announced that Foamstars will be going free-to-play starting on October 3. According to a recent press release, players with or without a PlayStation Plus subscription can soon jump straight into the game at no additional cost.

Players who downloaded FOAMSTARS before the free-to-play transition will receive a free “Legacy Gift” to enhance their experience. The gift will include 12 exclusive color-variant Bubble Beastie skins, one exclusive Slideboard design, and one title: “Legacy.” More details on how to obtain the Legacy Gift to come soon.

FOAMSTARS is developed by Square Enix’s Creative Business Unit II, which is in charge of the Dragon Quest and NieR series. Square Enix held an open beta in September 2023, which gave PlayStation gamers a glimpse of its gameplay. FOAMSTARS launched on February 6. The seventh season is about to begin and will last until October 3.

The PlayStation Store describes Foamstars as follows:

Welcome to Bath Vegas, home of the Foamstars, the quirky and colourful cast of athletes taking part in Foamsmash. Only those few with enough charisma and skill will be crowned Foamstars.

Join the 4 vs. 4 party and create 3D battles with mountains of foam, as it builds and alters the terrain around you. Shaping the landscape will give your team the upper hand and keep your opponents on their toes!

With multiple PVP modes, a PVE mode, and a plethora of customisation options, there’s never a dull time in the city of Bath Vegas.

Get ready for foam-filled-fun content updates every season that will make this party even better.
