Nexon Games announced that Season 1: Invasion of free-to-play looter shooter The First Descendant will launch on August 29. The new update will bring a slew of new content, including the new Descendant Hailey and “Invasion Dungeon” challenges.
The new Descendant, Hailey, is a guerilla soldier armed with an anti-material sniper rifle, sub-zero bullets, and a storm snare. Her unique ability allows her to lower her body temperature and emit chilling air.
Players will be able to navigate a new Invasion Dungeon, which occurs randomly in two dungeons of the Hard Difficulty Infiltration Operations. These dungeons are perfect for speedrunners, as the faster the clear time, the greater the rewards.
After encountering the Iron Heart, Descendants undergo a powerful Arche resonance phenomenon that unlocks new abilities known as Inversion Reinforcement. With Inversion Reinforcement, Descendants gain new hunting, attribute, recovery, and survival powers as the player progresses through The First Descendant Season 1 and beyond.
While playing The First Descendant Season 1, players may seek out the new Excava assault rifle and the Frost Watcher scout rifle. Excava combines the versatility of an assault rifle with a powerful charged shot. As players attack enemies, voltage may be charged and converted into a precise energy grenade shot. Meanwhile, the Frost Watcher is a scout rifle that reduces chill resistance and enhances the damage of the player’s chilling skills, making it perfect for Hailey.
Alongside Hailey, Ultimate Freyna will make her debut with a new Descendant Story to progress through in Season 1. The Void Intercept Boss Battle: Death Stalker will also be available, calling on players to fight and protect Albion from Death Stalker’s threat.
Lastly, The First Descendant is available now for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
