    One Piece Day ’24 Event Report

    An overview of the grand two-day event.

    The One Piece Day ’24 event was recently held from August 10 to August 11 at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan. The two-day event featured live performances, streamed stages, and the latest news for The One Piece anime remake

    For the first time in the event’s history, One Piece Day expanded into two areas: the Exhibition Area and the LIVE Area. The Exhibition Area was the open stage event for One Piece Day ’24, with various special programs having been held. On Day 1, fans experienced the One Piece Best Scenes Poll -Top 100 Scenes Production Crews Find Memorable-, ONE PIECE WORLD FIGURE COLOSSEUM Stage Event, and ONE PIECE BOUNTY RUSH The 2nd Extreme Treasure Festival Tournament Finals. 

    Iñaki Godoy, who plays Luffy in the One Piece Netflix series, also showed up to give a video message in Japanese:

    “When I’m done filming, I’ll go to Japan and talk in Japanese with all of you guys! Let’s go to the Grandline!!!!”

    On Day 2 of One Piece Day ’24 in the Exhibition area, fans gained insight into the creation of The One Piece series animated by WIT STUDIO. UT × ONE PIECE Special Stage, ONE PIECE Card Game Special Stage, The 6th ONE PIECE Knowledge King Final Candidate Announcement Stage, and the Radio Broadcast “MUGIWARA Space” Live Recording were also held.

    In the LIVE area, various performances were held during the ‘ONE PIECE DAY’24 SPECIAL LIVE’ segment. Maki Otsuki, Hiroshi Kitadani, GRe4N BOYZ, and Mori Calliope brought joy to One Piece fans in the crowd. In an encore, TERU from GLAY made a surprise appearance. At the end of Day 2 in the LIVE area, Ado and BE:FIRST performed, and Maki Otsuki and Hiroshi Kitadani appeared on stage once more. Voice actors from The Straw Hat Pirates appeared as in an encore as the grand finale.
