During a recent Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio TV livestream, SEGA and Like a Dragon developer Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio announced their next game will be revealed at Tokyo Game Show 2024.
It’s not entirely whether the next game by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio will be a Like a Dragon or Judgment title, but many signs point toward the former being revealed at Tokyo Game Show 2024. Previously, series director Masayoshi Yokoyama revealed that work on the next Like a Dragon game was already underway, and auditions for the game’s “Minato Girls” recently concluded in Japan. The Minato Girls will appear in CG and live-action scenes promoting the new game.
This past April, Yokoyama also confirmed that the next game will not be Yakuza Kiwami 3, so a Yakuza remake of any kind is likely not in order. However, Yokoyama believes the remake will happen “sooner or later.”
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth patch 1.18 was released this past March with free celebratory t-shirts. These t-shirts celebrate the latest sales milestone for Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth at over one million copies sold. Patch 1.20 also fixed some lingering issues from patch 1.18.
As discussed in Final Weapon’s review of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, the latest Like a Dragon entry is well worth the hype as one of 2024’s best games. Many fans showed up for the launch, helping Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth become the fastest selling game in the franchise.
