F-Zero 99 has released the game’s latest update, Version 1.4.0, for players. The update features a new festival event, emotes, and more.
F-ZERO 99 launched on September 14 following an exciting Nintendo Direct presentation. Like Tetris 99, the F-ZERO battle royale title has been supported with post-launch updates and content. The most recent update, on January 24, 2024, added secret tracks and private lobbies.
Nintendo has added a new update for F-Zero 99, Version 1.4.0, with the following content:
As part of the 1.4.0 update, members can enjoy a new festival event (complete with festival-themed versions of courses), a separate event leaderboard, computer-controlled racers called “Star Rivals,” gameplay adjustments, and more.
Oh, and one could say that the most emotive update is the addition of…emotes. Try holding the L or R Button and then pressing the A, B, X, or Y Buttons at the start of a race (or while spectating).
Here’s an overview of F-ZERO 99, via the Nintendo eShop:
Line up with 98 other F-ZERO machines and race to the finish in this thrilling take on the original Super NES game. Keep an eye on your power meter as you boost and bash, because speed is just as important as survival. Defend yourself with a Spin Attack and collect Super Sparks to breeze past the competition on the elevated Skyway. The F-ZERO 99 game is available only to active Nintendo Switch Online members.
F-Zero 99 is available now on the Nintendo Switch. It is exclusively available if you have the Nintendo Switch Online service. The developers will likely add more updates in the coming months.
