Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail producer Naoki Yoshida confirms that multiple adjustments for the game’s jobs will be implemented in patches 7.01 through 7.05. The new Viper and Pictomancer jobs will receive major adjustments as well, according to Square Enix’s Lodestone website.
Firstly, Yoshida notes that feedback from the community was vital for some of the adjustments being made. The Monk Job will get potency fixes in patch 7.01, including improved effectiveness of area-of-effect attacks. Minor adjustments to the job HUD will be made as well.
Astrologian will receive adjustments to its Light Speed recast time, and Light Speed will be made into a charged action. The recast time of Astrologian’s two draw actions will be adjusted as well, alongside the potency of Macrocosmos.
The new Viper job will receive improvements in patch 7.05, including the easing of directional requirements and some changes to the effects of several actions. Smaller adjustments to the range of certain Viper abilities will be made in patch 7.01, however.
The Black Mage’s Umbral Soul action will receive adjustments in patch 7.01 and patch 7.05, with the latter having changes to action potencies. The recast timer for Samurai’s Tendo Setsugekka and Tendo Kaeshi Setsugekka will be reduced, and the effect duration of Red Mage’s Manafication will be extended.
Pictomancer, the second of the two new jobs added in Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail, will receive a bug fix in patch 7.01. This patch will fix an exploit where players could manually disable the effects of Subtractive Palette, Aetherhues, and Aetherhues II.
Lastly, tank jobs, including Dark Knight and Gunbreaker, will receive increased enmity effects for their area-of-effect attacks. Movement abilities will also be improved in patch 7.01.
Final Fantasy XIV and the Dawntrail expansion are available now for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Windows and Steam.
