Kingdom Hearts on Steam to Feature New Visual Enhancements

New features not present in previous releases.

    Published:

The upcoming Kingdom Hearts releases on Steam will receive new texture enhancements that were not seen in any previous release. This includes the Epic Games Store versions of the titles, which launched in 2021. The following Kingdom Hearts titles will receive visual enhancements to environmental textures:

    • KINGDOM HEARTS FINAL MIX
    • KINGDOM HEARTS Re:Chain of Memories
    • KINGDOM HEARTS II FINAL MIX
    • KINGDOM HEARTS Birth by Sleep FINAL MIX
    • KINGDOM HEARTS Dream Drop Distance HD

This was commented on by Square Enix in a Steam news post: “With the release on Steam, in-game environmental textures have been upgraded to an even higher quality!
In this HD Remaster, the worlds of KINGDOM HEARTS are even more beautiful than before.” Fans have also provided examples of these new textures:

Almost the entire series will now be available to play on Steam, with the exception of Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory. All titles will be available in a bundle titled the INTEGRUM MASTERPIECE bundle, which also includes a Steam-exclusive “Dead of the Night” Keyblade for Kingdom Hearts III. You can get this Keyblade through the bundle or by purchasing Kingdom Hearts III

Be sure to check out the new trailer for the Steam releases here. However, if you’re a first-time player, we do suggest skipping this one as a few too many spoilers appear.

We’ll be sure to keep you posted on these improvements, as we’re excited to see all the new enhancements Square Enix has made to these beloved titles! The Kingdom Hearts series is set to release on Steam on June 13.
