Kingdom Hearts Coming to Steam on June 13

    At long last.

    Published:

Square Enix has announced that Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, and Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind (DLC) will be available on Steam starting June 13. The titles were previously exclusive to the Epic Games Store and have remained exclusive since 2021.

Ever since the release of the EGS versions, there has been a massive amount of fan outcry about playing these titles on Steam. After Square Enix’s report last week, in which the company detailed its multiplatform approach, it’s refreshing to see these titles be made available on Steam. You can check out the announcement below:

The official Steam release trailer will premiere tomorrow, May 21, at 8 AM PST. The description of the trailer states it will feature the newly re-recorded version of “Simple and Clean” from Hikaru Utada. The full description can be found below:

“Revisit the emotional and heartwarming world of KINGDOM HEARTS in this Steam announcement trailer featuring the newly re-recorded “Simple and Clean” from Hikaru Utada, one of Japan’s most influential and best-selling musical artists.”

This means almost the entire series will now be available to play on Steam, with the exception of Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory. All titles will be available in a bundle titled the INTEGRUM MASTERPIECE bundle, which also includes a Steam-exclusive “Dead of the Night” Keyblade for Kingdom Hearts III

Square Enix shared a blog post about the release tonight, but the store pages are not yet on Steam. Therefore, we are unable to confirm whether the titles will be Steam Deck Verified. Based on what we know about the EGS builds, it’s likely that they all will be verified for the platform, though.

It’s certainly interesting timing for this release, especially with Summer Game Fest on the horizon. Could Square Enix potentially share a glimpse at the next Kingdom Hearts title, Kingdom Hearts IV? It’s anyone’s guess, but regardless, it’s exciting to see these titles become available to a wider audience on PC.
