SEGA Reportedly Planning Annual Like a Dragon, Persona, and Sonic Releases

Loads of new titles seem to be in the works at SEGA.

A new statement from Midori has revealed that SEGA is planning to release yearly Like a DragonPersona, and Sonic content. Specifically, Midori revealed that the teams at SEGA would look to release annual titles, including remakes, remasters, DLC, and, of course, new titles. This comes as news, since this previously was not revealed by Midori. Take a look at the tweet below:

We’ve already begun to see this over the past few years. Take 2023, which featured Persona 5 TacticaSonic Superstars, and Like a Dragon: Ishin! These were two new titles and a remake. In 2024, we’ve already seen releases of Persona 3 Reload and Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. DLC content is planned for Persona 3 Reload through September, and we’ll also see the release of Persona 5 X this year. As for Sonic, Sonic X Shadow Generations is set to release this Fall, and a new mobile game called Sonic Rumble was revealed this week. Ultimately, these are clearly the most important IPs at SEGA right now.

This information comes from Twitter user Midori (@MbKKssTBhz5), who has an incredible track record with SEGA and Atlus titles. Just last week, Midori revealed that Jet Set Radio Reboot & JSR Remake will be arriving in 2026 based on current estimates. Additionally, she also revealed in April that Persona 6 is set to have a green theme.

When asked about her thoughts regarding the quality of these titles with increased output, Midori stated the following: “The quality of Persona series should not change. Because multiple titles are developed at the same time across multiple years. The current stage of Persona entered development in 2019. The current stage is P6, P3R, P5T and P5X.”

We’ll keep you updated on the annual SEGA release schedule.
