    SHY Anime Season 2 Trailer Showcases New Characters

    Bandai Namco’s Emotion Label has revealed a new trailer for the upcoming season 2 for SHY, revealing some of the new season’s new characters. The series is set to air in July 2024.

    SHY is a story about the titular character being the superhero representative for Japan. In an age where superheroes have brought worldwide peace, the timid young girl is a beacon of peace with a heart of gold. A dubbed release of the series is also available on Crunchyroll. In March, the anime’s staff confirmed that the series will air in July.

    During AnimeJapan 2024, Emotion revealed a new trailer for the upcoming season 2 of the SHY series that highlights two new characters using panels and images from the original manga series. The new characters are Ai Tennoji and Utsuro. Kotori Koiwai will play Tennoji, while Hitomi Ueda will play Utsuro. Check out the new trailer below:

    • Bryn Apprill as Iko
    • Natalie Rose as Spirit
    • Nazeeh Tarsha as Shrimpy
    • Molly Searcy as Unilord
    • Nia Celeste as Daigo

    Akita Shoten publishes the original SHY manga by Bukimi Miki in its Weekly Shonen Champion magazine, and an English language version is also available from Yen Press. Masaomi Ando is directing the SHY TV anime at the animation studio Eight Bit. Crunchyroll describes the series as follows:

    On the brink of a third World War, superheroes appeared on Earth. Gifted with powers, their appearance brings peace to the world. The heroes each selected a country in which they would reside, serve, and protect its citizens. Shy is Japan’s hero, endowed with super strength. Her most daunting enemy yet? Crippling shyness. Join Shy and her super friends as she defends Earth and gains confidence!

    Lastly, SHY season 1 is available in its entirety on Crunchyroll. Season 2 will air in July. The anime’s staff will likely reveal more details about the season’s cast, staff, exact release date, and dubbed release in the coming months.
