    What Happened in Episode 27?

Frieren Beyond Journey's End episode 27

Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End episode 27 centered around Fern’s broken staff and the third and final test. Firstly, Denken lectures about life and tells Richter to not be discouraged about his failure in the second stage, since Richter still has a long life ahead of him. Shortly after this encounter, Stark meets with an aggravated Fern back at the inn. Fern is upset since Frieren told her to replace her broken staff instead of fixing it. However, the staff is a gift from Heiter, and Fern doesn’t want to part with his gift.

Frieren takes the staff to Richter, who runs a magic shop in Äuberst. Although somewhat reluctant and annoyed, Richter decided to help Frieren and fix Fern’s staff before the third and final test arrives. Moments later, Fern remembers Heiter’s lecture before his death, telling her to give Frieren some time when it comes to emotions and feelings. Once more, Fern feels grateful for Frieren’s kindness and progress as a person.

Finally, the day of the third test begins, and it’s revealed that Serie plans to fail everyone in interviews. Serie only wanted someone to acknowledge her fluctuating mana, and even Frieren is incapable of recognizing it. Frieren reassures herself that Fern can see it, and she acknowledges that Serie can’t fail her due to her immense potential. Fern stands up to Serie and tells her what she sees, and Serie passes her on the spot. At last, a first-class mage has been decided in Fern!
