Laid-Back Camp Creator’s mono Manga Gets an Anime Adaptation

A newly launched official website and Twitter account for mono, a spin-off four panel manga by Laid-Back Camp creator Afro, confirms an anime adaptation is on the way. The anime’s staff and two new key visuals were also revealed alongside a new trailer. 

The Laid-Back Camp manga by Afro entered serialization in 2015, and the series is still ongoing in 2023. Three years after the manga began, Season 1 of Laid-Back Camp anime premiered in January 2018. Another season later, Laid-Back Camp is going to make its return with Season 3 on April 4.

Laid-Back Camp Creator’s mono Gets a New Anime and New Trailer

Like the manga, the mono anime will depict high school girls that are part of a “cinephoto” club, combining cinema and photography. Jujutsu Kaisen assistant director Ryota Aikei is directing the mono anime series at studio Soigne. Takuya Miyahara is the character designer, and Yoko Yonaiyama is the script writer. Aniplex will produce the anime series, which doesn’t have a confirmed premiere date yet.

8-Bit is producing the animation for Laid-Back Camp Season 3, which premieres on April 4 across on Japanese TV networks, including AT-X, Tokyo MX, and BS11. Crunchyroll will stream the series as it airs in Japan. 

Shin Tosaka is the director of the anime, and Masafumi Sugiura will handle series composition. Hisanori Hashimoto serves as the character designer, Akiyuki Tateyama is the composer, and Takeshi Takadera is the sound director.

Kiminone will perform the opening theme song “Laid-Back Journey” for Laid-Back Camp Season 3. In addition, Asaka will perform the ending theme song “So Precious.”

The first two seasons of Laid-Back Camp and the Laid-Back Camp movie are available now to stream on Crunchyroll. Laid-Back Camp Season 3 will also stream on the platform, according to Crunchyroll’s spring 2024 anime seasonal lineup.
