During the recent Pokémon Presents event, The Pokémon Company announced the Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket. As the name indicates, the upcoming mobile release aims to deliver the experience of the Pokémon Trading Card Game on the go. It will release in 2024.
The Pokémon Trading Card Game initially released in Japan in 1996, just a few months after the release of Pokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow. Over the years, the game has become just as beloved as the main Pokémon game series, inspiring a generation of card collectors and even getting its own web series last year. Nintendo also released the Game Boy version of the Pokémon Trading Card Game on the virtual console in 2023.
Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket Revealed, Releasing in 2024 for iOS and Android
During the recent Pokémon Presents event, the company announced a mobile version of the beloved Pokémon Trading Card Game. The new release, titled Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket, will launch in 2024 for both iOS and Android devices. The Pokémon Company announced the game alongside the next major game in the Pokémon franchise: Pokémon Legends Z-A. The game will launch in 2025. For more details, check out our piece here.

Experience the fun of collecting Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) cards with Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket, an upcoming game for iOS and Android devices from Creatures Inc., the original developers of the Pokémon TCG, and DeNA Co., Ltd.
In this game, you will be able to open two booster packs every day at no cost. You can collect digital cards featuring nostalgic artwork from the past as well as brand-new cards that are exclusive to Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket. Be on the lookout for new “immersive cards,” which will make you feel as though you’ve leapt into the world of the card’s illustration.
Lastly, The Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket will release on iOS and Android in 2024.
