Pokémon Trading Card Game & Pokémon Stadium 2 Join Nintendo Switch Online Today

    Out later today.

The Pokémon Company announced today during Pokémon Presents that Pokémon Trading Card Game and Pokémon Stadium 2 will be released on Nintendo Switch later today. This comes after the first Pokémon Stadium was released on Nintendo Switch on April 12.

Pokémon Trading Card Game & Pokémon Stadium 2 Headed to Nintendo Switch

Unfortunately, there was no mention of any other Game Boy Pokémon titles. This includes Pokémon Red, Pokémon Blue, Pokémon Yellow, Pokémon Gold, Pokémon Silver, and Pokémon Crystal. It is unclear at this time if these titles will ever make it to the platform, but it does make plenty of sense to bring them over, especially with the Game Boy Nintendo Switch Online service. The addition of Pokémon Trading Card Game is exciting, though, as this is the first Pokémon Game Boy title to be added, potentially paving the way for more in the future.

Pokémon Trading Card Game will be available for all Nintendo Switch Online members. Regardless of what tier, each member has access to the Game Boy titles available in the collection.

Pokémon Stadium 2 will only be available for Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack members. This is the $49.99 tier of the membership, which grants access to Nintendo 64 and Game Boy Advance titles.

Finally, a new trailer for Pokémon Scarlet & Violet: The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero Part 1 – The Teal Mask was shared. This is the first wave of DLC for Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, with the second aiming to be released later this year, sometime in Winter 2023. The Teal Mask is set to release on September 13, 2023, on Nintendo Switch.
