Nintendo has confirmed that Splatoon 3 will begin its newest season, “Fresh Season,” on March 1. They’ve also revealed a new trailer for the event.
Nintendo initially released Splatoon 3 in September 2022. Previously, the game was going through its 2023 Chill Season. The season initially began on December 1 and features a wealth of new weapons, the returning Bluefin Depot map, new clothing, and so much more. The most recent Splatfest was part of Splatoon 3‘s new “Frosty Fest.” Just a week before Fresh Season begins, Nintendo will release Side Order, a major story expansion, on February 22.
Splatoon 3 Fresh Season Details
Nintendo has released the first trailer for Splatoon 3‘s next season. The season, titled “Fresh Season” will begin on March 1. The trailer reveals the introduction of two new maps, one for Turf War and one for Salmon Run. The Turf War map is called “Marlin Airport.” As the name implies, the map is set on an airport, complete with numerous details and easter eggs that fans can enjoy upon closer examination.
The Salmon Run map is called Bonerattle Arena and seems to be based around a fortress where Salmon will rise from the water to confront you and your friends. Additionally, the trailer hints at two new weapons (the Recycled Brella and Douser Dualies) and a new Splatfest item called a Fizzbang. The last thing the trailer shows is more footage of Side Order, set to release on February 22. Check out the trailer below:
Side Order focuses on Pearl and Marina from Splatoon 2, alongside the returning Agent 8 from Splatoon 2: Octo Expansion. The DLC will be available for those who have already purchased the Splatoon 3 Expansion Pass. The Splatoon 3 Expansion Pass is available now on the Nintendo eShop for $24.99.
