Earth Defense Force 6 Delayed to Summer 2024 in the West

    More time needed for improvements.

    D3 Publisher announced Earth Defense Force 6 has been delayed to summer 2024 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam in the west. Originally, the western release was planned for spring 2024.

    Earth Defense Force celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2023, with over five million copies sold in the series. Nearly a year after the Japanese release of Earth Defense Force 6, D3 Publisher confirmed the game would finally release in English in 2024.

    Earth Defense Force 6 English Release is Delayed

    According to D3 Publisher, the release window for Earth Defense Force 6 was delayed, since the game needs more finishing touches and optimizations. A release date will be announced at a later date, so stay tuned (Thanks, Gematsu). 

    Previously, D3 Publisher confirmed the Asia release of Earth Defense Force 6 will be available on March 14 with English support for 2024 for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. The game will also support Korean and Chinese text and audio. Fans may import the game at Playasia. 

    Earth Defense Force 6 first launched for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 on August 25, 2022 in Japan. Lastly, Earth Defense Force 6 will be released in summer 2024 in the west for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam.

    Earth Defense Force 6 picks up three years after the events of its predecessor in the year 2027. The survivors continue their efforts to rebuild against the Primers, but threats to the world’s safety remain. The Earth Defense Force (EDF) is once again called upon to protect the planet from the aggressive extraterrestrial invaders.

    Key features include an all-new storyline, the return of Ranger, Air Raider, Wing Diver, and Fencer classes, alongside an enormous amount of new content, including hundreds of additional missions and weapons. Players will also be able to fight through Earth Defense Force 6 as a two-player co-op experience with split-screen or online co-op with up to four players.
