Reuters has reported that Tencent is supposedly working on a mobile version of the hit game, Elden Ring. Further, the new version of the game will reportedly be free-to-play and include several in-app purchases.
From Software initially released Elden Ring in 2022. After releasing on all major next-generation consoles, the game won the coveted Game of the Year award for that year. In early 2023, From Software announced that the game will be receiving DLC titled Shadow of the Erdtree. At the time of writing, the release date for the DLC is currently unconfirmed.
Tencent Potentially Making a Mobile Port of Elden Ring
Reuters recently reported that the major Chinese developer Tencent will be developing a mobile version of Elden Ring. They acquired the licensing rights from From Software back in 2022 and are supposedly still in the early prototype phase. Further, their sources also stated the following:
While Elden Ring was designed as a premium game with a set price tag, Tencent wants to make it a free-to-play game with in-app purchases, similar to the hit game Genshin Impact.
