FOAMSTARS Reveals Season One Content and Roadmap

    Seasons Two through Six teased.

Square Enix revealed new details about 4v4 foam party shooter FOAMSTARS and its first season, Season One – Starry Pop. The first season will begin alongside the game’s launch on February 6 on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.

FOAMSTARS is developed by Square Enix’s Creative Business Unit II, which is in charge of the Dragon Quest and NieR series. An open beta was held in September 2023, giving PlayStation gamers a glimpse of what’s to come at launch. Following the release date announcement, Square Enix revealed more details at the latest State of Play presentation.

FOAMSTARS Season One, Seasonal Roadmap and More

FOAMSTARS Season One – Starry Pop begins on February 6 alongside the game’s launch. As a reminder, the game is included with PlayStation Plus during the month of February, so subscribers do not need to buy the game to jump right in. During the first season, players can expect the following events to be available:

    • Ranked Party: Rise in the FOAMSTARS ranks by competing in two limited-time seasonal events, the solo player-based Ranked Party Lonestar and team-based Ranked Party Tribe-Vibe. There are seven ranks to progress though – Bronze StarSilver StarGold StarPlatinum StarDiamond StarSuperstar and Party Legend. Earning enough Rank Points allows players to take part in the Rank-Up Trials.
    • Extreme Party: Challenge players in two special themed modes; the All Mel T Party – where every player battles it out as Mel T, and the Invisible Party, where everyone is invisible. The first team to score ten chills on opponent players claims the victory.
    • Happy FriYAY Party: A weekend-only party event with no winners or losers, just the opportunity to try-out next season’s FOAMSTAR, Coiff Guy.
