Bandai Namco released a new Tekken 8 gameplay trailer featuring Lee Chaolan, the adopted son of Heihachi Mishima and manager of Violet Systems. Lee joins the base roster with a revamped move-set.

A free Tekken 8 demo is available now, allowing players to try out the game’s single-player modes before launch. These trailers focus on characters that are returning from Tekken 7, such as Alisa, Dragunov, Zafina, and Lee Chaolan.

In Tekken 8, Lee Chaolan is determined to push back G Corp and his brother, Kazuya Mishima. Lee invests in a next-gen close-range combat suit known as the Violet Suit. This suit will help him fight against Mishima’s onslaught while aiding Lars and Jin.

Here’s an excerpt of Lee Chaolan’s character bio, via Tekken 8’s official website:

Raised in a harsh environment as Heihachi Mishima’s adopted son, Lee Chaolan now manages the global humanoid manufacturer, Violet Systems.

Lee carries with him a bitter hatred of both Heihachi and Kazuya Mishima, and when he first meets Lars Alexandersson—a man who stands in opposition of the Mishima Zaibatsu—he intends to use him as a pawn for his own revenge.

However, Lee comes to sympathize with Lars’s honest and excellent desire for peace. With the sincere intention of supporting Lars’s plan, Lee teams up with him to form the rebel army “Yggdrasil” and begins working as a staff officer.

In addition, players gain access to Super Ghost Battle after clearing the first chapter of Arcade Quest in the demo. The Versus and Gallery modes are also available with partial access. Jin Kazama, Kazuya Mishima, Paul Phoenix, and Nina Williams are the four playable characters for the Tekken 8 demo. Save data doesn’t transfer to the full version, however.

Lastly, Tekken 8 launches January 26, 2024 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Tekken 8 physical and digital pre-orders are now available, and players can score new Paul Phoenix avatar costumes as an added pre-order bonus.
