FOAMSTARS has revealed two key pieces of information with the team’s 2024 New Year’s announcement. First, it will be released sometime in early 2024. More information will come very soon, specifically on January 16.
FOAMSTARS is developed by Square Enix’s Creative Business Unit II, which is in charge of the Dragon Quest and NieR series. An open beta was held at the very end of September to allow players on PlayStation to try out the new game.
New FOMASTARS Info Coming January 16, 2024
This news came from the Japanese X (Twitter) account for the game, but we can confirm that FOAMSTARS will be released in Early 2024 in the West as well, thanks to the official website.
Square Enix describes the game as the following on their website:
Introducing FOAMSTARS, the new 4v4 online party shooter for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.
Use foam to build terrain, creating slippery surfaces to surf around the arena at high speed, help defend from enemy attacks, or create vantage points to take out opponents.
And most importantly, to foam up the opposition!
Other Square Enix 2024 News
Other messages were shared by Square Enix in celebration of the new year. One of them was by Yoshi-P, Producer of Final Fantasy XVI and Director of Final Fantasy XIV. The other was Yoshinori Kitase, Producer of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.
Both titles have offerings set to release in 2024. Rebirth is due out on PS5 this February, and Final Fantasy XVI: The Rising Tide, the second DLC pack focusing on Leviathan, is set for Spring 2024. Additionally, Ichiro Hazama, Producer of Theatrhtyhm Final Bar Line, teased news for his team sometime in 2024.
FOAMSTARS will release for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 sometime in early 2024. Be sure to stay tuned for new information on January 16.
