    Disclaimer: Numpad Notation

The numpad notation being displayed for fighting games, which will be a big help of clarifying the combo list in this Djeeta Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising guide.

Before I get into the combos, I need to explain the concept of numpad notations. Numpad notation is a method used in fighting games to describe control inputs clearly, universally, and language-neutral. In short, it uses numbers for directional inputs, making it easy to read. For example, press 8 for an upward jump, 7 or 9 for diagonal jumps, and 2 for crouching. No input is marked as 5, indicating neutral.

This is a great way to communicate fighting game controls because it is universal. It allows new players to understand it easily throughout all games. It also allows players to share tech with other international players who don’t speak the same language. The combos I will display in this guide utilize the numpad notation structure. If you need clarification at any point looking at the list of combos, come back here for reminders!

    Learn Basic Combos

Mastering Djeeta’s Bread and Butter (BnB) combos is crucial. When you get a hit in fighting games, you want to make sure it counts. There will be many combos to learn in the future, but you want to start with the basics. These include:

    • Autocombo into 214L~214L: Initiate from a close normal attack. Effective and easy.
    • 2L > 2L > f.5L > 214L~214L: Basic 2L confirm, works on all characters.
    • c.5H > 214H~214H > 2H > 236[H] > (dash) c.5H > 623M: A corner combo, easy and versatile. The 236[H] part of the combo says you want to charge the fireball.
    • Counter-Hit 2H > f.5H > 214M~214M: An anti-air combo that does decent damage and carries the opponent to the corner.

    Learn Mixups With Rekka

One of the defining things about Djeeta in Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising is that she has a rekka. A rekka is a type of special move with up to three parts, moving the character forward. Typically, the first part is safe when blocked. The later stages are usually used as hit confirmations, but some games modify this approach.

Djeeta’s rekka, Vorpal Blade, is multifaceted. Not only is it a chain of attacks, but it is also a strategic tool for offensive mixups. Her rekka consists of a few stages. You can do the first stage, continue the rekka, or completely stop. Stopping the rekka at any point allows you to bait dragon punches (DPs) on offense. This lets you mix up the way how you approach your offense. If your opponent is scared of doing a DP, after you stop the rekka, you can start your offense again. The other alternative is to keep doing the rekka if the opponent starts mashing an attack. By utilizing this rekka, you will be unpredictable and keep making your opponent guess.

How to Win Neutral With Djeeta in Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising

In fighting games, neutral is a state where no player is blocking or getting hit by anything. Some opponents will run or jump at you to start their offense. An effective strategy with Djeeta is using her normals to control space and initiate combos. Understanding the range of properties of her moves is key to effectively winning the neutral game. Her key moves in neutral include:

    • f.5L (Far Light): Good range, can combo into L or H Vorpal Blade. This whiffs on crouching opponents, so be careful.
    • f.5M (Far Medium): Excellent range, combos into L and H Vorpal Blade. Cancelling this into M Vorpal Blade on the opponent’s block will beat the opponent mashing an attack afterward.
    • f.5H (Far Heavy): Longer range than f.5M and can also combo into all versions of Vorpal Blade. You can also cancel this attack into M Vorpal Blade on the opponent’s block.
    • 2M (Crouching Medium): Decent range and fast poke. It also lasts on the screen for a long time, keeping players away from you.
    • 2H (Crouching Heavy): Main anti-air, various juggles on counter hit.
    • 236X (Fireball): Keeps the opponent away from you and makes them want to jump. Great tool to use at far distances. Find the perfect distance where you can throw this fireball out and anti-air at the same time. Charging her EX fireball will let you safely approach.
