Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth Main Story is 3-4 Days Long ‘Without Sleep’

A greater volume of content compared to Yakuza: Like a Dragon.

Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio director Masayoshi Yokoyama reveals that the main story of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is roughly 3 to 4 days long “without sleep,” according to an interview conducted by Automaton Media. Yokoyama specifically states that this playtime may be achieved by completing the game with little substory progress or detours taken.

After learning about his mother’s potential whereabouts from Jo Sawashiro, Ichiban Kasuga heads to Honolulu, Hawaii to get some answers from her. Ichiban gets into some trouble shortly after landing in the states, however. Fortunately, Kazuma Kiryu comes to the save in this dual-protagonist adventure called Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth.

Take Your Time With The Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth Main Story

When speaking to Automaton Media, Yokoyama discussed the main story of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. The main story is 3-4 days long “without sleep” and “almost no side stories.” Yokoyama encourages the interviewer and players to enjoy the game as it comes, without losing any sleep. The story features complex events, but the developers ensured that it will be relatively easy to follow and unforgettable. Moreover, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth presents a much greater volume of content compared to Yakuza: Like a Dragon.

Here’s the specific excerpt from the interview:

Yokoyama: If you wanted to clear only the main story of Infinite Wealth, it would take about 3-4 days without sleep. That means no sleep, no detours, and almost no side stories, so please enjoy the game bit by bit, without losing any sleep.

Yokoyama also confirmed that Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is not coming to Xbox Game Pass, and the total number of pre-orders may break a series record at its current pace. The developer also notes that sales of Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name are “surprisingly good” in Japan. Gaiden seemingly reignited Japan’s passion for the series, leading to a uptick in sales. This is a promising sign of momentum leading into Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth’s launch.

Lastly, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth launches on January 26, 2024 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. The Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth Special Trial Version is available with purchases of Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, which is available right now as well. Save data does not transfer to the full game.
