In a recent statement, Insomniac Games confirmed that they are still developing Marvel’s Wolverine despite the recent ransomware attack. They will share more information about the game when the “time is right.”
Marvel’s Wolverine is set to be Insomniac’s next major game. The upcoming release will be the company’s fourth game in their version of the Marvel universe. Insomniac’s most recent game in the series is Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, available now on the PlayStation 5. They will likely reveal more details about Wolverine in the coming months.
Insomniac Still Working on Marvel’s Wolverine in Spite of Ransomware Attack
Recently, Insomniac Games suffered a major ransomware attack. As a result, an early build of Marvel’s Wolverine leaked. Additionally, the company’s plans for the next ten years, as well as personal employee information, also went public. In the last couple of days, fans have come out to support Insomniac during the unprecedented event. In response, Insomniac posted the following message:
“Thank you for the outpouring of compassion and unwavering support. It’s deeply appreciated. We’re both saddened and angered about the recent criminal cyberattack on our studio and the emotional toll it’s taken on our dev team. We have focused inwardly for the last several days to support each other.
“We are aware that the stolen data includes personal information belonging to our employees, former employees, and independent contractors. It also includes early development details about Marvel’s Wolverine for PlayStation 5. We continue working quickly to determine what data was impacted.
“This experience has been extremely distressing for us.
“We want everyone to enjoy the games we develop as intended and as our players deserve. However, like Logan…Insomniac is resilient. Marvel’s Wolverine continues as planned. The game is in early production and will no doubt greatly evolve throughout development, as do all our plans.
“While we appreciate everyone’s enthusiasm, we will share official information about Marvel’s Wolverine when the time is right. On behalf of everyone at Insomniac, thank you for your ongoing support during this challenging time.”
Insomniac will likely reveal more about Marvel’s Wolverine in the coming months. Lastly, the company’s most recent game, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, is available now on the PlayStation 5.
