Bandai Namco released a new trailer for Tekken 8 highlighting the story mode titled “The Dark Awakens.” Players may look forward to a cinematic experience with intense battles and intriguing lore from across the Tekken universe.
A free Tekken 8 demo is available right now, allowing players to try out the game’s single-player modes before launch. One of the modes available in the demo is “The Dark Awakens” story mode. Players have access to the first chapter of the story mode, and Bandai Namco revealed more details.
Tekken 8 “The Dark Awakens” Story Mode
Jin Kazama is determined to write his own fate in the battle against his father, Kazuya Mishima. In The Dark Awakens story mode, Tekken 8 players will experience the story from Jin’s perspective alongside other characters. Bandai Namco notes that the game will have “smooth transitions from cinematic scenes to intense battles.”

With the disappearance of Heihachi Mishima, the all-out war between his Mishima Zaibatsu and the Kazuya Mishima-led G Corporation came to a close, as the latter seized victory due to its increased influence.
Even so, G Corp continued to wage war across the globe. Half a year later, peace is yet to return to the world…
Various world leaders gathered at the behest of the United Nations, where they pledged to carry out sanctions against G Corp for as long as they refused disarmament. But then, Kazuya appeared as a representative of G Corp. He announced he would be rejecting their terms and immediately had his forces storm the assembly hall, turning it into a sea of flames along with the rest of New York.
Meanwhile, the rebel army led by Lars Alexandersson commenced Operation Lightning, a mission designed to take down Kazuya.
Jin Kazama would be the key to the operation, for had learned to control his demonic power at will.
Father and son: Kazuya Mishima and Jin Kazama… With the very world itself hanging in the balance, the battle between devils is about to begin.

Lastly, Tekken 8 launches January 26, 2024 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Tekken 8 physical and digital pre-orders are now available, and players can score new Paul Phoenix avatar costumes as an added pre-order bonus.
