Famitsu has published eight minutes of gameplay footage for Vanillaware’s next major game, Unicorn Overlord. The game will release on March 8, 2024, for most major consoles.
Unicorn Overlord is the “rebirth” of tactical fantasy RPGs according to the reveal trailer. THe new RPG combines overworld exploration, a robust combat system, and simulation mechanics into a fantastical adventure. Vanillaware has been developing this RPG for years now, and fans will finally be able to play the studio’s newest project in March.
New Unicorn Overlord Gameplay Footage
Famitsu’s YouTube channel recently posted eight minutes of gameplay footage for Unicorn Overlord. The trailer shows off the game’s unique combat system, characters, story, and more. The description states that “this ultra-royalistic adventure tale of gathering friends and confronting a great evil is depicted with Vanillaware’s unique high-definition graphics and characters, highly flexible field exploration, and innovative simulation battles. While reminiscent of the classic simulation RPGs of the 1990s, the game incorporates modern elements such as a unique battle system and online battles.”
