Naughty Dog has announced that their head of technology Christian Gyrling has left the company after seventeen years. Travis Mcintosh, another of Naughty Dog’s programmers whose been with the company for nineteen years, will fill his position.
At the time of writing, the reason for Gyrling’s departure is currently unknown. However, Naughty Dog has had several challenges over the last few years. For example. their recent PC port of The Last of Us Part 1 launched with several bugs and glitches. Additionally, their upcoming live-service game, The Last of Us Factions 2, has experienced numerous delays and is reportedly “on-ice.”
Naughty Dog Head of Technology Departs the Company After Nearly Twenty Years
On Naughty Dog’s official Twitter account, the company revealed that Christian Gyrling, the previous head of technology at the company, will be departing after seventeen years. Their message states the following:
“Our head of technology Christian Gyrling has decided to leave Naughty Dog after an amazing 17-year career at our studio. We’re grateful for his many contributions to the studio, our games, and his teammates. We will miss Christian greatly and wish him the best of luck on where his path leads next. Travis Mcintosh, a 19-year veteran at Naughty Dog, will succeed Christian as head of technology.”
Naughty Dog’s Next Project
Naughty Dog’s next project is currently unknown. In a prior announcement, they stated that they had another single player game in development. Little information about the project is known.
