SINoALICE Shutting Down in January 2024 in Japan

A story comes to its end.

Square Enix and Pokelabo announced mobile RPG SINoALICE is shutting down on January 15, 2024 in Japan. The announcement comes just a month after Square Enix confirmed the global version’s shutdown.

SINoALICE is approaching its global end of service on November 15, which means the game will no longer be available in English soon. The Japanese version will soon follow, and Square Enix shared another schedule regarding the end of service.

    SINoALICE Shutting Down Soon

SINoALICE will shut down first on November 15 globally, and the Japanese DMM Games and browser versions will shut down on December 26. Effective immediately, all sales of Twilight Crystals are disabled. From December 26 to January 15, the game’s final story chapter will be told in the Japanese Android and iOS versions. Once January 15 rolls around, SINoALICE will shut down permanently in Japan.

Square Enix will host a SINoALICE End of Service Roundtable event roughly a week later on January 23, 2024. Four of the game’s key developers and operators will discuss their memories of the game. Fans in Japan may apply to attend the event at the Square Enix Members’ website. A total of 140 applicants will be chosen by lottery.

Here’s the schedule leading into the global version’s end of service:

    Schedule Until End of Service

    • September 1 at 8:00 (UTC): Purchase of in-app currency Twilight Crystals for iOS and Android discontinued
    • November 15 at 5:00 (UTC): Acceptance of refund requests for remaining balance of unused Paid Twilight Crystals for iOS and Android (*1) begins
      • Due to the end of service, users who have been playing the iOS and Android versions of SINoALICE Global can request a refund for their remaining balance of unused Paid Twilight Crystals.
    • November 15 at 5:00 (UTC): End of Service / App no longer distributed on App Store and Google Play
    • November 15 at 5:00 (UTC): Use of in-app currency Twilight Crystals for iOS and Android discontinued

Lastly, SINoALICE is available now for Android and iOS until November 15 globally and January 15, 2024 in Japan.
