PlayStation has announced that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has sold 25 million copies within the first twenty-four hours of its release. It is officially the fastest-selling PlayStation Studios game in history.
Spider-Man 2 is the long-anticipated follow-up to 2018’s Marvel’s Spider-Man and 2020’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. The game includes many new suits, abilities, characters, and more. The game is available now on the PlayStation 5. Insomniac recommends downloading the day-one update for improved performance in opening segments.
Spider-Man 2 is the Fastest-Selling Game in PlayStation History
In a recent tweet from PlayStation, the company announced that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has sold more than 2.5 million copies within the first twenty-four hours of its release. The statistic makes the game the fastest-selling PlayStation Studios game in PlayStation history, beating the likes of God of War: Ragnarok, Horizon: Forbidden West, and even 2018’s Marvel’s Spider-Man. Only time will tell how the game’s overall sales will compare to other PlayStation Studios titles.
Insomniac launched Spider-Man 2 this past Friday, October 20. According to the recently released launch trailer, the game is described as follows:
Spider-Men, Peter Parker and Miles Morales, return for an exciting new adventure in the critically acclaimed Marvel’s Spider-Man franchise for the PS5 console. Nine months after the events of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, we find Miles still enlisting Peter’s help, but when the mysterious symbiote appears, Peter and Miles’ relationships are put to the test.

Lastly, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is exclusively available now on the PlayStation 5. 2018’s Spider-Man and 2020’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales are also available on the PlayStation 5. They are also available on PC via the Epic Games Store and Steam.
