Shueisha and Toei Animation announced Dragon Ball Daima, a new anime series where all of the iconic Dragon Ball Super characters have been turned into children and babies. The upcoming anime series will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Dragon Ball franchise next fall.
Dragon Ball Daima was announced by producer Akio Iyoku during the Dragon Ball Special Panel at New York Comic Con 2023. Beforehand, Toei Animation and Shueisha noted that a “mysterious teaser” would be shown at the event, and rumors regarding a “Dragon Ball Magic” project were rampant.
Dragon Ball Daima is the “Mysterious Teaser” Project
A new trailer was shown at NYCC 2023, confirming that the Dragon Ball Daima anime series will premiere in fall 2024. Goku, Vegeta, Bulma, and the rest of the Dragon Ball Super characters are turned into children, and young characters such as Goten and Trunks are back to being babies. It appears that a wish from Shenron caused the change to happen, and it will be up to Goku and the crew to battle against new threats that appear.
Akira Toriyama is directly involved in the new Dragon Ball Daima anime, and he’s panned entirely new episodes for the story line. The anime’s connection to Dragon Ball Super has not been clarified, but it seems to take place sometime after the Super Hero film. Whis VA Ian Sinclair also asked if his character would appear in the new anime, but Iyoku did not give a straightforward answer.
