Sony Interactive Entertainment and Gran Turismo series developer Polyphony Digital announced online servers for Gran Turismo Sport will end on January 31, 2024. The announcement comes as the latest content update for Gran Turismo 7 goes live.
Gran Turismo Sport launched in October 2017 for PlayStation 4 worldwide. The racing simulator was criticized for its online-only approach, and Polyphony Digital proceeded to release an update that lets players enjoy certain modes of the game while offline, including a newly added Career Mode. Nearly six years later, online servers for Gran Turismo Sport are being shut down as Polyphony Digital focuses on support for Gran Turismo 7.
Gran Turismo Sport Online Services Shutdown
On January 31, 2024, online servers for Gran Turismo Sport will be taken offline. Add-on content distribution will end on December 1, 2023. Once servers are shut down, online services such as the Community, Open Lobby, and Sport Mode will no longer be accessible. What happens to my “Garage” cars and my Career Mode progression?
