SEGA announced several updates for Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis will launch in October 2023, and a new Frame Arms Girl collab will be held in November. A lot of content is on the way as the game heads deeper into the fall season.
On September 13, SEGA launched its collaboration with Oshi no Ko. A special Oshi no Ko login bonus campaign introduced several free rewards, and new Build Parts featuring posters and life-sized panels were made available. Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis will continue to offer new collaborations with the October 2023 round of updates.
Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis Reveals October 2023 Updates
The month’s first update for Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis lands on October 4 featuring the new Night Chill Battle limited-time quest. In this new quest, players must defeat waves of enemies on Kanai Isle in Aelio in order to complete new limited-time tasks and ARKS Records. The October 4 update will also introduce the NGS Hairstyle Revival, Rewind Collection Oct ’23, and Type 1 and 2 Voice Collect Oct ’23 AC Scratch Tickets.
On October 11, Chapter 6 Part 3 of the main story and the Street Beat AC Scratch Ticket will be introduced with a new update. Aina will also receive a new outfit for her instructor role. Moreover, the Retem region’s exploration sectors will be updated with Warp Saucers, new high-level Gigantix and Dread enemies, new Starless enemies, and much more. Further, a new urgent quest will be available in Retem: Mining Defense Rig: Retem Rank 3. A new Starless boss enemy will appear, so players should become well-prepared before taking on the new quest. There’s a lot more to unpack in the October 11 update, however.
October 11 Update’s New Features
Several new features and improvements will be introduced in the October 11 update, so it’s worth going over in depth. Alliance Mag will be available as a Build Part in the Alliance Space, allowing players to use Genesis Points to get up to five different Boost Effects at the same time. New N-Team Points may be used to level up to even more powerful effects. The Noct series of Build Parts brings a dark twist to customization in the Creative Space, while new Mushroom Build Parts adds a natural look.

Halloween Updates and SPRIGGAN Collab
Halloween festivities begin with the October 18 update for Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis. Xiemi will be the event navigator with a shop full of rewards that may be redeemed with Seasonal Points, including Halloween Scratch Tickets. Moreover, players can expect limited-time tasks and titles, the new 8-star Brawnaga weapon series, and a new augment. Reaper Rappy & Trickertreat Emperappy will roam the wild as well.
In addition, the October 18 update brings the Haunted Domain limited-time urgent quest, the Duel: Phase 3 duel quest, a new rank to the Maqead Lower Level Combat Sector, new Build Parts, and Mission Pass: NGS Season 25. The SPRIGGAN collab is also part of the October 18 update. A special login bonus will be available with SPRIGGAN-themed rewards. The SPRIGGAN Style AC Scratch Ticket will feature cosmetics, outfits, and other accessories based on the popular anime and manga series.
Final October Update and New Frame Arms Girl Collab
The final update of the month lands on October 25 with the limited-time quest Dreisen Plant Interception. This 24-player quest puts the group against Megalotix versions of Doldoris Vera and Nils Vera enemies. More limited-time tasks and titles may be earned by those who complete the quest. Fans may also look forward to the Monster Masquerade ’23 AC Scratch Ticket with Halloween-themed cosmetics.
