Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty – How to Get the New Ending

Compromise your way to the top.

One of the most anticipated new additions coming to Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty is the inclusion of a new ending. Many have rightly assumed that the ending will be connected to the new story featured in the expansion. However, earning the new ending for the main story is more complicated than you’d expect. Here’s an overview of how to get the new ending in Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty.

Warning: Minor Spoilers for Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty are contained within this guide.

    The Tower

    Cyberpunk 2077 Songbird

As the story of Dogtown, the new district added in Phantom Liberty, progresses, the main choices that lead to the new ending become clear. You are given two options when prompted to go to the stadium and beat the main villain of Phantom Liberty, Kurt Hansen. Either help Songbird, the netrunner guiding you since the expansion’s start or sell out Songbird to Solomon Reed (played by Idris Elba) and his bosses, the FIA.

If you pick Solomon Reed, the path to getting the new ending is quicker. However, if you choose Songbird, don’t worry: you still have one more chance to get the new main game ending. After waiting a few in-game days, Songbird will contact you for one final mission. As you climb the space station to send Songbird off to the moon, Solomon Reed will appear to you one last time and ask you to give Songbird up.

If you don’t, you will be locked out of the final ending until the next playthrough. If you do, congratulations, you have begun the path to getting the new Cyberpunk 2077 ending called “The Tower.” Keep waiting a few more in-game days, and Solomon Reed will contact you for a meet-up. After that, wait a few more days, and finally, you will be contacted by Solomon Reed.

He will ask to meet at a safe location. Once you go there, you are warned that you are reaching the “Point of No Return.” Make sure all critical side quests and gigs are done before Reed’s arrival. If you’re ready, hit the appropriate prompt, sit back, and watch the new ending.

Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty will release on September 26, 2023. Check out our official review here for more impressions before you return to the first-person RPG.
