Castlevania: Nocturne Unveils Key Visual, Releasing New Trailer Tomorrow

    Premiering later this month.

Netflix has revealed a new key visual for Castlevania: Nocturne. The streaming platform also announced that a new trailer will be released tomorrow.

Castlevania: Nocturne is the sequel series to the Netflix show simply titled Castlevania. Based on the beloved gaming franchise, Nocturne focuses on Richter Belmont, another member of the monster-slaying Belmont family. For fans of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night and Castlevania: Blood of Rondo, this will be the series for you.

In a tweet, Netflix revealed the new visual alongside the following statement:

“Before Castlevania: Nocturne was a Netflix series, it was a dream – inspired by the rich worlds and valiant heroes from the iconic video games. We’re excited to share our Official Trailer tomorrow, and even more excited for you to see all of the work that is to come from now until September 28, when we’ll finally release Castlevania: Nocturne on Netflix.”

Netflix originally announced Castlevania Nocturne during Netflix Geeked Week in 2022. Set years after the events of the Castlevania Netflix series, Richter takes up the mantle of vampire hunter. The series’ story centers around the events of Castlevania: Rondo of Blood and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. The official description of the series is as follows:

“In the thick of the French Revolution, members of the so-called lower classes are rising up to fight inequality: “It’s the natural order for them to milk us dry with impossible rents and unpayable taxes,” Maria (Davies), a young leader, laments. Meanwhile, Richter Belmont (Bluemel) senses a far grimmer and greater danger. He’s picked up his family’s long-held tradition of vampire hunting, a vocation that goes back almost as long as a vampiric life span (in other words, forever).

But he’s never seen anything quite like what he’s witnessing now — could the drastic uptick in vampire activity have something to do with the death of his mother? And what’s up with this rumored news of a supposed vampire messiah?”

The trailer will reveal more information on the series before its premiere. Lastly, Castlevania: Nocturne will premiere exclusively on Netflix on September 28, 2023.
