Developer Edia announced Valis: The Fantasm Soldier Collection III will release on December 7 for Nintendo Switch. The upcoming side-scrolling action game collection will be sold physically and digitally in Japan.
As previously discussed, Valis: The Fantasm Soldier Collection III includes classic Valis titles from the Famicom, MSX2, Mega Drive, PC-8801, mkIISR, and Super Famicom systems. Features from the previous two Valis collections will return such as Sound Mode, Visual Mode, and the Rewind function. Fans in Japan may back a new crowdfunding campaign to earn additional goods with their copy.
Valis: The Fantasy Soldier Collection III Winter Release
Edia will release Valis: The Fantasy Soldier Collection III for 8,580 yen on December 7 for Nintendo Switch. A physical special edition will also be available for 16,280 yen. Special edition contents include a physical copy of the game, two-disc soundtrack CD, trading card, and the official memorial book “My Dear Maiden.”

Edia is currently funding development and distribution of Valis: The Fantasm Soldier Collection III in a Makuake crowdfunding campaign. Before August 30, the studio seeks five million yen in funding, which is roughly $35,350. Users may pledge funds toward the project with several tiers. These tiers include bonus rewards alongside a digital copy of the Nintendo Switch title, including the original soundtrack CD, t-shirts, digital artbooks, and much more. Physical goods are expected to ship out in November 2023 for backers, and the digital Nintendo Switch code is expected to be sent out in December.
Finally, Valis: The Fantasm Soldier Collection II is currently available for Nintendo Switch in Japan featuring Valis IV, Syd of Valis, Valis: The Fantasm Soldier, and Valis: The Phantasm Soldier. Valis IV is based on the PC Engine version, whereas Syd of Valis and Valis: The Fantasm Soldier are based on the SEGA Genesis versions. Valis: The Phantasm Soldier is based on the MSX version.
