    D3 Publisher Teases August 29 Reveal for Project CMW

    D3 Publisher and Bandai Namco are teasing a brand-new game reveal for “Project CMW” on Tuesday, August 29. This new title appears to be coming to PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam soon. 

    D3 Publisher is known for many of its titles as a subsidiary of Bandai Namco. These games include Samurai Maiden, Ed-0: Zombie Uprising, and Earth Defense Force 6. The studio will add Project CMW to its catalog of titles soon. 

    Project CMW Reveal Set for August 29

    In a new D3 Publisher press release, the company announces Project CMW is a new game coming soon to PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam. The game’s title is tentative, but D3 Publisher will reveal the meaning of the acronym on August 29. A new Twitter account for the upcoming title is also live, revealing a vague image with a mech. Further details were not revealed just yet, however.

    “What does the acronym ‘CMW’ mean? The truth will be revealed on this [Twitter] account on Tuesday, August 29,” the press release reads via Gematsu. “Please look forward to a new frontier of ???? game opened up by D3 Publisher!”

    A recent issue of Famitsu reveals that Gaiark emerges from within the Earth in Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2, causing it to shatter into pieces once more. Players will have access to over 100 missions and several different classes, including four classes from Earth Defense Force 6. Once more, it’s up to players to conquer the challenges alone or with friends against waves of enemies. 

    In the original Earth Defense Force: World Brothers, players explore a parallel world where Earth is made out of digital blocks. The world becomes shattered into pieces, and its up to players to combat enemies and save Earth before all of its pieces are destroyed. The Dark Tyrant was defeated in Earth Defense Force: World Brothers, but Gaiark will emerge as a new threat in the upcoming sequel.

    Lastly, Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 launches in 2024 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 in Japan. Earth Defense Force: World Brothers is available now for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam.
