    New Pokémon Poltchageist Revealed for Pokémon Scarlet & Violet ‘The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero’ DLC

    The tea was spilled on a spooky new Pokémon.

    The Pokémon Company has officially revealed a new Pokémon, Poltchageist, set to release in the upcoming Pokémon Scarlet & Violet DLC, The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero. Alongside the reveal, they released more information about the new Pokémon.

    The Pokémon Company initially released Pokémon Scarlet and Violet last year. Part 1 of the upcoming DLC, The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero, will release on September 13, 2023. Part 2 will release at some point in Winter later this year.

    Poltchageist Coming to Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

    The Pokémon Company revealed Poltchageist in a new trailer detailing his backstory. He’s a matcha-themed Pokémon native to the region of Kitakami. Players can freely explore Kitakami in Part 1 of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero. Be sure to check out the sad story of the possessed teapot below:

    They also released another trailer that outlined how Poltchageist will perform in-game. For one, he is a grass/ghost type. He’s a regional form of a previous Pokémon, Polteageist. While his exact move type is unknown, The Pokémon Company will likely reveal more in the coming weeks.

    The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero is the first expansion of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. The first part, The Teal Mask, will release in September. Players will meet new friends and Pokémon as they unravel the mysteries behind the folktales passed down in this land, 230 Pokémon including returning starters, and new legendary Pokémon like Ogerpon and Terapagos. Part 2, The Indigo Mask, will release sometime in Winter 2023. For fans of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, check out The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero when it releases soon.

    Lastly, Pokémon Scarlet & Violet: The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero Part 1, The Teal Mask, will release on September 13. Part 2, The Indigo Disk, will release in Winter 2023. Both DLCs are available for pre-order now on the Nintendo eShop.
