THQ Nordic has announced South Park: Snow Day, a new 3D cooperative multiplayer game set in the world of the infamous animated series. It will release in 2024 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
In August 2022, THQ Nordic teased that a new South Park game would be in development. The announcement comes courtesy of the THQ Nordic Showcase, which is currently ongoing. Stay tuned for more news on the company’s future in the next few weeks.
South Park: Snow Day Details
The new South Park: Snow Day trailer depicts a 3D arena-style PvE adventure. While it is a four-player online coop, it is unknown whether or not there will be a local multiplayer feature. THQ Nordic will likely release more information on the upcoming release’s gameplay soon.
The description of the trailer describes it as follows:
“An all-new South Park game is coming… in 3D. Join Cartman, Stan, Kyle and Kenny, in three-dimensional glory, to celebrate the most magical day in any young child’s life – a snow day! Grab up to three friends and battle your way through the snow-piled streets of South Park on a quest to save the world and enjoy a day without school.”
This will not be the first South Park game released in the last ten years. In 2014, Ubisoft released the RPG South Park: The Stick of Truth. It follows the structure of other well-known turn-based RPGs. A sequel was released later called South Park: The Fractured but Whole. Both games are available on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Players can purchase The Fractured but Whole for $49.99 on Steam, with discounts available at other local and online retailers.
