Rumor: Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4 English Dub Recording Seemingly Underway

Speculation continues months after the reveal

English dub recording for Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4 is seemingly underway according to speculation from notable sources involving a recent TikTok by Krillin and Bardock voice actor Sonny Strait. Although the actor is unable to confirm the title that he performed for, several teases line up with the upcoming title from Bandai Namco.

During Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour, Bandai Namco confirmed a new Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi game is currently in development. The reveal trailer showed Goku powering up to his Super Saiyan Blue transformation from Dragon Ball Super. Details about the new title have been scarce for some time, but several sources speculate that English dub recording may be underway already.

Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4 Update

On TikTok, Krillin and Bardock voice actor Sonny Strait reveals that he finished voice recording for a video game that involves “a lot of screaming.” Strait states that he voiced three distinct characters, but he’s unable to divulge any more details regarding the game itself. Speculation regarding Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4 quickly began after the TikTok was posted.

According to Dragon Ball content creator Geekdom101, several voice actors have begun working on the English dub for Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4 in the past few weeks. One of the voice actors reached out to Geekdom101 to confirm the recording is underway, but their identity was kept anonymous. If true, this means the game is far along in development since voice recording is near the latter stages of production. The user speculates a release window of summer or fall 2024.

Geekdom101 also goes on to claim that multiple Gods of Destruction and Angels from Dragon Ball Super will be in the new game. However, this does not confirm that all of them will be playable. At the very least, this implies that the Tournament of Power arc will be adapted into Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4’s story mode. The user also notes that Goku voice actor Sean Schemmel also canceled an appearance at a recent convention for an “very important” voice recording.

Finally, it’s worth noting that Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4 is an unofficial title as the upcoming title has yet to receive an official name. Bandai Namco simply refers to the new title as Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi in its official blog post.
