PlayStation has officially announced its August 2023 lineup for the Extra and Premium games catalog on PlayStation Plus. Most of the seventeen games on the catalog will be available starting today, while others will be available later this month.
PlayStation’s Base Plus membership costs $9.99 a month. For five dollars more, you get access to more games available every month for free. Lastly, for three dollars more, you can purchase the premium membership that includes games from PlayStation’s history, available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. If you have the money to spend and want to explore PlayStation’s history, then the PlayStation Plus August 2023 games catalog is for you.
PlayStation Plus Extra Game Catalog in August 2023
The following games are available as part of the PlayStation Plus Extra Membership in August 2023:
- Sea of Stars
- Sea of Stars is an RPG inspired by the classics. Developer Sabotage has sought to create an RPG that emphasizes traversal and exploration just as much as its combat. The game will release on August 29 and be available on day one for PlayStation Plus.
- Moving Out 2
- Moving Out 2 is an online cooperative that allows you to attempt to transport furniture to and from select locations chaotically. If you’re hoping for a fun game to play with friends online, Moving Out 2 is for you.
- Destiny 2: The Witch Queen
- The Witch Queen is one of the most beloved expansions for the hit first-person shooter MMO Destiny 2. Thankfully, if you don’t have Destiny 2, the game is available as a free-to-start title on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
- Lost Judgment
- Lost Judgment is the latest entry in the Judgement series by Ryu Ga Gotoku. From the developers of Yakuza, the game features a unique story alongside the thrilling, action-packed gameplay of the Like a Dragon franchise.
- Destroy All Humans 2: Reprobed
- This game is a remade version of the THQ classic, Destroy All Humans 2. Fans of the franchise and those looking for a fun sandbox adventure should give Destroy All Humans 2: Reprobed a shot.
- Dreams
- Media Molecule’s Dreams is a level/game creator engine from the makers of Little Big Planet. If you’ve ever dreamed of making your own game, Dreams is the perfect place to start.
Those are the most notable games available on the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog for Extra members in August 2023. The following games are also available: Two Point Hospital: Jumbo Edition, Source of Madness, Cursed to Golf, PJ Masks: Heroes of the Night, Hotel Transylvania: Scary-Tale Adventures, Lawn Mowing Simulator: Landmark Edition, Spellforce III Reforced, and Midnight Fight Express.
PlayStation Plus Premium Game Catalog in August 2023
Lastly, the following retro games are available on the PlayStation Plus Premium Games Catalog in August 2023:
- Medievil Resurrection
- Originally on the PSP, this game is one of the more obscure entries in the Medievil franchise.
- Ape Escape: On the Loose
- Another PlayStation Portable title, On the Loose follows the structure and gameplay style of the Ape Escape franchise, but on the go.
- Pursuit Force: Extreme Justice
- Pursuit Force is an arcade-esque action game where you drive cars and shoot criminals. The game was also released on the PSP, but despite the limited hardware, it’s still a fun title.
