MAGES. director Makoto Asada is already teasing ‘big’ plans for Steins;Gate 15th anniversary in a new interview at GameSpark, and announcements may come as soon as fall 2023. 2024 may prove to be a pivotal year for MAGES. if a new Science Adventure title is on the way.
Steins;Gate is one of the most popular series from the Science Adventure universe by MAGES. This September, fans in the west will finally receive ANONYMOUS;CODE, the latest Science Adventure entry. A new Steins; title (Steins;???) has been planned for years now, and an announcement may potentially come as soon as this fall.
“Something Big” for Steins;Gate 15th Anniversary
In the new GameSpark interview with Asada, the director notes that Steins;Gate is steadily approaching its 15th anniversary in 2024. According to Asada, MAGES. hopes to do “something big” in fall 2023 that leads up to the anniversary. Specific details about what these plans could be were not shared in the interview since it primarily focuses on unauthorized uploading of visual novel gameplay. However, one of the potential plans could be a reveal for the new Steins; title (Thanks, Kiri Kiri Basara).

GameSpark: Finally, do you have any closing statements to share?
Makoto Asada: Well… Steins;Gate will celebrate its 15th anniversary next year, so we are hoping to do something big around this fall to that end.
Steins;??? is the seventh entry in the Science Adventure franchise and the thematic sequel to Steins;Gate. The title is spearheaded by Science Adventure director Chiyomaru Shikura at Chiyomaru Studio and MAGES. Development of the title was confirmed in 2020, but news regarding an official title and the game’s overall status has been scarce ever since.
Lastly, ANONYMOUS;CODE launches September 8 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam in the west.
