During a San Diego Comic-Con 2023 special screening, Bandai Namco Entertainment announced the SAND LAND movie is coming to North America in 2024. The movie will come to the west at least four months after its theatrical release in Japan.
Sunrise, Kamikaze Douga, and ANIMA are producing the new SAND LAND movie with Bandai Namco Entertainment. The movie was originally announced as “SAND LAND project,” which Bandai Namco has expanded to include a brand-new action RPG. SAND LAND is being developed as one of Bandai Namco’s “full IPs.”
TOHO will open SAND LAND in Japanese theaters first on August 18 with regular, IMAX, 4DX, and MX4D screenings. The new film will premiere in 2024 for North America, but a distributor has not been announced yet.
