During Day 1 of One Piece Day ’23, Netflix revealed a new trailer for the upcoming One Piece live-action series. One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda serves as executive producer for the new live-action series, which is produced by Tomorrow Studios.
The upcoming One Piece Netflix series is set for an August 31 premiere on the streaming platforms. Tomorrow Studios is producing eight episodes for the live-action series, which starts from the East Blue arc. Oda ensured “each and every entity involved is working in sync” for the Netflix show, and fans can expect a diverse cast of actors to portray the iconic Straw Hat Pirates. Moreover, the renowned Japanese voice cast returns to voice the Japanese dub for One Piece on Netflix.

During the One Piece Day ’23 live stream, Luffy voice actress Mayumi Tanaka read an extensive statement written by Oda. Numerous scenes were shot again because Oda felt the scenes did not meet his standards. Ultimately, the prolific One Piece creator is pleased with the series that the production team and actors were able to create together. Oda knows fans may have mixed feelings about the live-action series, and he’s willing to take those grievances from fans with utmost responsibility. While waiting for the August 31 premiere, Oda encourages fans to have some tea.
