Toei Animation have revealed the official teaser trailer for One Piece Episode 1071, which will feature Monkey D. Luffy’s Gear 5 transformation. Luffy will soon reach the pinnacle of strength in the anime next month.
One Piece Day ’23 is active until July 22, offering the latest One Piece reveals and updates. Thus far, a new trailer for the One Piece Netflix series was shown, and various One Piece movies will come to the Crunchyroll streaming service. Episode 1070 will premiere on July 29, and the following episode will bring the long-awaited arrival of Luffy’s Gear 5 from.
On August 6 (JST), Luffy will enter his Gear 5 form in the 1071th episode of the long-running One Piece anime. Episode 1071 is titled “Luffy’s Peak – Attained! Gear Fifth”, which depicts the events of One Piece manga chapter 1044. Tatsuya Nagamine serves as director for the new anime episode alongside animation directors Midori Matsuda and Keita Saito. One Piece Episode 1071 will air across Japanese broadcasting networks on August 6 at 9:30 a.m. JST. Crunchyroll is simulcasting the popular One Piece anime series with English subs, so fans can expect Episode 1071 to premiere on August 5 at 7:00 p.m. PDT / 10:00 p.m. EDT. However, the exact timing may be subject to change, so stay tuned for more updates.
Thus far in the One Piece anime, Luffy is seemingly defeated after an intensive battle against Kaido in Episode 1069. Episode 1070 will continue the build up toward the major Gear 5 form for Luffy in 1071.
