Nacon has announced that Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown has been delayed to Early 2024. The announcement comes alongside an official showcase that reveals more of what to expect from Solar Crown‘s gameplay.
This is not Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown‘s first delay. Initially announced in 2020, the game was originally set to release in 2022, then in 2023, and now in 2024. Atari’s racing franchise started in 2006 and is still ongoing. The final release date for Solar Crown has not yet been confirmed.
Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown Delayed
The official Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown showcase revealed more of the upcoming release’s gameplay. There are two gameplay styles: racing and on-foot. The racing gameplay is exactly what you’d expect from most racing games, filled with incredible cars and fast-paced races. There are also social mechanics where you can explore the titular Solar Crown Hotel on foot with friends. The mix of gameplay styles will undoubtedly separate Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown from other games in the genre.
The official website features more information about the game, including its key factions and setting. The first main faction is the Sharps, pompous citizens who love sophistication and luxury. Against them are the Streets, a group that defines itself by going against the grain and embracing underground culture. The game will take place on Hong Kong Island. The developers took extraordinary measures to recreate the landscape on a 1:1 scale. The land of Hong Kong Island will undoubtedly be a highlight for fans and newcomers alike.
Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown will release in Early 2024. It will be available on Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
