At Anime Expo 2023, Bandai Namco and CyberConnect2 shared new details about Naruto x Boruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections including the all-new original story and characters Nanashi and Merz. The original story stars Boruto Uzumaki and the rest of the Boruto: Naruto Next Generations crew as they deal with a new crisis.
In the “Special Story Mode” of Naruto x Boruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections, the Fifth Great Ninja War is on the verge of breaking out due to Merz. Merz is a mysterious original character with plans to start the great war, and he’s gathering a formidable army to fight the Hidden Leaf Village. The latest trailer shows Boruto and his allies rushing into a war-torn battlefield where Naruto and Sasuke are fighting. Nanashi, a navigator from the Ninja Heroes mobile game, will appear in this original story as well. Nanashi appears to be an helpful ally, however.

Players may also look forward to reliving iconic scenes from Naruto and Naruto Shippuden in a massive story mode. Additionally, upcoming Ultimate Ninja Storm title features brand-new playable characters including Naruto Uzumaki (Baryon Mode), Sasuke Uchiha (Supporting Kage), Indra Otsutsuki, Ashura Otsutsuki, Kawaki, and Jigen. Once more, fans may also explore the Special Story Mode featuring a new original story.
Before the launch of the new game, Naruto fans may read a new one-shot manga by series creator Masashi Kishimoto. The Weekly Shonen Jump issue releasing on July 18 will feature a one-shot manga starring Minato Namikaze. The one-shot manga delves into the secret story behind the signature ninjutsu of Minato Namikaze.
Lastly, Naruto x Boruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections launches in 2023 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
