Innersloth Games has officially announced that an Among Us animated TV series is in development. Writer/director Owen Dennis will develop the show at CBS Studios.
Among Us was first released in 2018 but received massive fan acclaim and success in 2020. Even after three years, millions of people play the mobile and console game every day. The development of a brand-new animated series is no doubt due to the massive success of the game.

The news comes courtesy of an exclusive from Variety—the article further details what to expect from the upcoming show. The series is based on the game’s central premise based on this tagline: “Members of your crew have been replaced by an alien shapeshifter intent on causing confusion, sabotaging the ship, and killing everyone. Root out the ‘Impostor’ or fall victim to its murderous designs.”
Titmouse, known for their work on Star Trek: Lower Decks and Big Mouth, will be working on the series. Innersloth will work directly on the upcoming series alongside director/executive producer Owen Dennis. Owen Dennis is mainly known for his work on the beloved Cartoon Network and HBO series Infinity Train. Infinity Train lasted from 2019 to 2021 and was canceled after Season 4. The upcoming series will be Dennis’ next major TV project.
Currently, no release window is known for the upcoming series. Additionally, despite the show being developed at CBS, a network or streamer hasn’t yet been attached to the project. However, according to Variety, these conversations are currently ongoing.

Among Us is a massively successful game on all devices, including PC, mobile, and consoles. As of 2021, the game had generated over 86 million dollars in revenue. Even today, millions of people still play it daily.
