SEGA revealed various updates and events coming to Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis in July 2023, including the PSO 2 11th Anniversary event. The Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis development and live ops teams thank players for over a decade of continued support as new updates arrive soon.
In July 2023, the 11th anniversary event will begin in Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis updates with several new activities and rewards. These new updates will arrive on July 5, July 12, and July 17 with various additions to the ongoing 11th anniversary event. Central City acts as a main hub for the festivities, and players will have limited-time tasks that grant special rewards upon completion.
Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis July 2023 Updates
The PSO 2 11th anniversary event begins on July 5 with the first major Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis update of the month. Central City, Region Mags, and Rappies will be decorated to commemorate the occasion. Event vendor Xiandy will also be in a full-body Rappy costume for the event as she gives out limited-time tasks for players to complete. Seasonal Points earned during the event may be exchanges for prizes at the Seasonal Points Exchange Shop. These prizes include the Revolcoat series of weapons, new augments, and much more.
Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis players may also enjoy the “Nazun’s Big Quiz Part 1” limited-time quest starting July 5. Moreover, the “Remnants of Ambition” Urgent Quest will be available. Defeat the quest boss Venogia Vera to earn a new title and additional rewards. While taking a break from combat, players may draw from the Designer Dreams Jul ’23 AC Scratch Ticket to win cosmetics from the 10th anniversary design contest. The Halpha Revival Jul ’23 SG Scratch Ticket will also be available.
PSO 2 11th Anniversary Mid-July Updates
The second update launches on July 12 with a new 4-player limited-time quest called “The Fortress in the Forest.” Additionally, players will have access to additional limited-time tasks and ARKS Records for Field Race South Aelio Dash (Stage 1). 11th Anniversary Memories AC Scratch Ticket and Resurgence Force SG Scratch Ticket will be available as well. The July 12 update is rather light for Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis, but fans won’t have to wait long for another major update.
On July 19, the second half of the 11th anniversary event kicks off in Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis. The Seasonal Points Exchange Shop will be updated with more new items to purchase. A Trigger Quest version of Remnants of Ambition will become available, allowing players to participate in this new content if they missed out during the first week. Further, ARKS Records for Field Race Central Retem Board (Stage 1) will be accessible. Players may earn summer-themed cosmetics from the Exotic Summer Night AC Scratch Ticket starting July 19 too.
The final update of the month lands on July 26 with two notable pieces of content. Nazun’s Big Quiz Part 2 limited-time quest will be live, and ARKS Records for Field Race North Retem Board (Stage 1) will be available. The July 26 update marks the end of the 11th anniversary event for Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis, but many more updates are on the way.
Future Roadmap
SEGA revealed a roadmap of updates launching between August 2023 and December 2023. The August-September updates will introduce a standing multi-party quest, ultra-high-difficulty standing party quest, and six limited-time quests. These updates will also introduce Chapter 6 (Part 2) of the main story, Alliance Spaces, Retem motif base terrain, new build parts, and a collaboration with otherworld comedy anime Uncle From Another World.
From October 2023 to November 2023, various Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis updates will bring new High Rank sectors in Retem, a duel quest, a urgent quest, and four limited-time quests. The main story continues in Chapter 6 (Part 3), and various Alliance Space enhancements will be made. Another collaboration will be held during this period with a sci-fi anime.
December 2023 updates mark the beginning of Christmas festivities in Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis. Players can expect Chapter 6 (Part 3), a ultra-high-difficulty standing party quest, a duel quest, and a limited-time quest this December. The last few updates for 2023 will bring new build parts and a collaboration with an action anime.
