As previously discussed, Pikmin 4 includes night-time missions where the player must be more careful around creatures that roam the world. Once night sets in, creatures are more vicious and unforgiving. A creature at the end of the February 2023 Nintendo Direct trailer may be seen with glowing red eyes during the night. The end of the trailer suggests that players must explore this dangerous setting throughout various instances of the main story.

Nintendo will share more details about Pikmin 4 in the June 21 Nintendo Direct. The upcoming Nintendo Direct includes 40 minutes of game reveals and updates for upcoming Nintendo Switch releases in the second half of 2023.
