Pikmin 4 Shares ‘Rise to the Occasion’ Prologue Trailer

    Rise up for the mission.

Nintendo released a new “Prologue” trailer for Pikmin 4 introducing the game’s premise, world, and the ability to create a character. The new Pikmin 4 wants eager fans to “rise to the occasion” when the game launches this summer.

Pikmin 4 is the next installment in the mainline Pikmin series, which last saw a release in 2020 in the form of Pikmin 3 Deluxe for Nintendo Switch. Players will explore a new world in Pikmin 4, gather tons of Pikmin, and enjoy new gameplay features. With enough Pikmin, the player may battle dangerous boss enemies throughout the world. The most unpredictable enemies come out during the night, however.

Pikmin 4 will feature night-time missions where the player must be more careful around creatures that roam the world. Once night sets in, creatures are more vicious and unforgiving in Pikmin 4. A creature at the end of the February 2023 Nintendo Direct trailer may be seen with glowing red eyes during the night, suggesting that players must explore this dangerous setting throughout various instances of the main story.

Here’s an overview of Pikmin 4 via the official Nintendo eShop page:

    About Pikmin 4

Guide pintsized creatures in a grand mission on a strange planet!

Meet Pikmin, small, plantlike creatures you can grow, pluck, command, and overpower your enemies with! These curious helpers come in different types—fire is no sweat for Red Pikmin and the brand-new Ice Pikmin can freeze enemies and the environment. Use your Pikmin’s miniature might (and a bit of strategy) to explore this mysterious planet.

You get a dog, too! Oatchi (pronounced oat-chee), resident good boy and dependable partner, can help with things like smashing obstacles and carrying Pikmin throughout your adventure. With the miniscule Pikmin and a capable canine in tow, no challenge is too big!
