Final Fantasy XVI Highlights PS5 Features in ‘Next Gen Immersion’ Trailer

    Launching June 22 worldwide.

    Published:

Square Enix and Sony Interactive Entertainment shared a new trailer for Final Fantasy XVI highlighting the game and its “next gen” features on PS5. Final Fantasy XVI will be a timed exclusive on PS5 through December 31, 2023.

The “Next Gen Immersion” trailer for Final Fantasy XVI shows more gameplay of protagonist Clive Rosfield as he battles enemies and traverses the realm of Valisthea. Sony notes the game’s use of the PS5’s SSD with “lightning-fast loading.” Moreover, Final Fantasy XVI makes use of the DualSense controller’s adaptive triggers and haptic feedback capabilities. Final Fantasy XVI players may also take advantage of PS5’s HD Audio capabilities with the Pulse 3D Wireless Headset.

Fans don’t need to wait much longer to play the new title since the Final Fantasy XVI demo is available now in the PlayStation Store. This new demo contains roughly two hours of gameplay with a prologue section that focuses on Clive’s teenage years in the Grand Duchy of Rosaria. After completing the prologue, players may test their skills in a “special combat” demo featuring an older version of Clive and his Eikonic abilities. Prologue save data from the Final Fantasy XVI demo transfers over to the full game, but save data from the special combat demo does not transfer over.
